Mission: The mission of this program is to prepare students for employment as Licensed Practical Nurses. This training will empower the participant to develop health, safety and wellness consciousness.

Description: The Practical Nursing program is designed to prepare graduates for employment as licensed practical nurses. The program is approved by the Florida State Board of Nursing, which makes the graduate eligible to take the examination to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse.

Theoretical Instruction and Clinical Experience in Medical, Surgical, Obstetrics, Pediatric and Geriatric Nursing
Family and Community Health Concepts
Nutrition, Human Growth and Development over the Life Span
Body Structure and Function
Interpersonal Relationship Skills
Mental Health Concepts
Legal Aspects of Practice
Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR

Occupational Completion Points

Basic Healthcare Worker - 90 hours
Nursing Assistant - 75 hours
Licensed Practical Nurse - 1185 hours

Successful completion of an OCP may qualify a student for employment.
