TABE Remediation

Vocational Preparatory Instruction (VPI)

VPI provides assistance to students who need to improve their basic skills in order to succeed in their workforce development programs or to meet state mandated academic requirements in reading, language, and math.  The laboratory is designed and equipped to provide a comprehensive academic support program through the utilization of multipurpose instructional materials and resources.

 

VPI is a self-paced computer based program recommended for people who do not score high enough on their initial TABE exam to enter their career choice program.  It is also for students needing to raise their scores to complete their career choice program.  Students are given individualized instruction according to their needs.

 

The VIP program strives to inspire and motivate students to become productive, self-sufficient members of society.  This VPI system is based upon the assessed needs of the individual and the academic and employability requirements related to Florida's comprehensive Career Education programs.

 

Registration Information

  • Students scoring below a 9th grade level (Level D) - $25 registration fee
  • Students scoring above a 9th grade level, with a high school diploma - Tuition is $174 for 60 hours of lab instruction, plus $25 registration fee
  • Students scoring above a 9th grade level, without a high school diploma - $25 registration fee
